"Can We Play Video Games" The Boys

For one full day we dragged the boys around historic Pensacola... All they wanted to do was play video games. So I bribed them with a dollar each... WORKED! Actually they did really good. Izaak I think is gonna follow in his parents footsteps, cuz he was taking photos with is little camera all day too! He set his camera on a timer and took one of all of us... Gotta get that one from you, Kristy!

Tuesday.... Lighting & Filters

My assignment for today was Lighting and Filters. I was suppose to use many different types of lighting and produce a good image no matter how dark or harsh the lighting was. Also to play with filters if possible. With digital there isnt too many choices on camera.... most of it is done in photoshop instead. Since I spent my time in Florida this week that is doubling for my assignment also...Here you go.
Bright Full Sun Shot:
Izaak bright back lit... not a fan but fullfilled the assignment.
Full Sun no fillflash:

Backlit Silloette:
The next four is when the sun set low enough in the sky to go behind a building "Partially-Directly Diffused Light"

No FLASH! This night shot was refecting light off of the large white building next to them... Tristan's Favorite!
Opened up shutter to 5 seconds at Twilight (safest time of day :))Window Light...Polarizing Filter on camera:
I used a Red Filter in Photoshop for this one...
Green Filter:
High Contrast Red Filter:

"Florida Family Fun"

Today I just got back from spending four fun filled days in Pensacola, Florida. I took a business/vaca trip down to see my wonderful friend Kristy and her family Tristan, Izaak, and Colin. Kristy and Tristan are really into photography and were willing to do anything for me to help me build my portfolio. I took family, couple, and yes wedding shots. Kristy wore my wedding dress and Tristan looked so handsome in his dress blues. They were so fun and willing to try and go anywhere. Ive got so so many great images of them that Im going to have to break it down into a few blogs. Tristan and I believe Kristy has a great future also shooting. She has a wonderful eye for children and still life and gave me a lesson on polarizing filters and beach shooting. And Tristan is a camera genius....thank God for me, cuz Ive been have some camera melt downs lately. I wish they lived closer, I know the three of us would have so much fun. But here are just a teaser of more to come.....

Tuesday

Last week, class was canceled due to the snow storm we had. I don't have anything to post for class, so here is another Frederick spot.... Its a war memorial specifically connected to Frederick. The names are local soldiers KIA or MIA. The Vietnam one was really nice. I didn't shoot all sides, but there were some really nice artwork throughout it. As I was walking around looking at them all, I came upon one memorial stating that the property was donated by a local church to the city of Frederick. But the grounds were originally a cemetery. They removed all the headstones made a park memorial of the area but put up one memorial with all the names of the people who still RIP there today. The oldest was buried in 1798.

Here is also a really cool spot.... there are a bunch of murals down our canal walk and this one looks like this when u stand straight in front of it....
But when u walk around about 80 degrees to the side it looks like this...
