Update....

I was just playing some more with this pic... I like it better in color. It was 90 degrees today and I didn't go out in it. I caught a bug yesterday and was running a fever last night bad and my throat was swelling up. So today I recovered in the air conditioning. I sound like a man if you were to talk to me, I hope that goes away soon. So other than that, Ive been working hard in the yard, and will post pics as soon as Im done. It is beautiful over here with all the dogwoods in bloom now. I wish I felt better to take my usual weekend drives. But theres always next weekend.

Heaven!!!!!!

Road Trip! Sarah and I took a long long day into Virginia. A few "detours" highway system odd down there. Anyways. We found a few rusted old trucks and cars. I was in photography heaven. I played around in photoshop with some of them.

Dad was this the car you drove in college? I remember you saying something about 3 circles on the side.

Washington DC

Our last outing of the visit was DC. We took the subway downtown and started in Arlington. There was a bunch a walking and we were all worn out by the time we got back on the subway near the White House. Out of all things that is what seemed to excite my parents the most, even though we were looking at it from a distance under the WA monument. My dad was on the lookout for the presidents helicopter and he saw it once for a brief moment. This trip was during the Cherry Blossom Festival, so there was a lot of people there. But the blooming trees, cherry, apple, pear, and magnolia were so beautiful. I love driving around right now cuz all the trees are in bloom. I think my parents had a good time and were glad it was our last outing. Until next time.

Gettysburg

My dad really wanted to go see Gettysburg. We ended up taking the long drive around the battlefields. Which I had never done before, so we saw both the Union & Confederate sides of the battle. My dad actually stopped to read some of the signs so I learned a bit more this trip.
This monument is where Lincoln gave his Gettysburg Address.These were two images of the Unions side. The trees were a grouping that they used to locate themselves.

This monument was erected by Pennsylvania for only the Union troops in I think 1908? Pretty amazing when you think about how long ago that was.

Now we were on the Confederate side looking across the battlefield where the union soldiers would be, this is were the Northern Virginia soldiers held their line. This was the final day of fighting the ended in a Unions victory. They say that about 25,000 bodies still lay beneath these fields.

Homework

I have two classes these couple months that do not require picture taking.... Digital Workflow and a Business 101. But I have taken a few workshops to keep me shooting. This one is a on-camera flash class. So here is some of my shots. I went to Berryville with Sarah in Virginia, she was delivering some artwork to a show for a friend. The show was in this awesome Gristmill that still was in working order. The town was so cute with the most amazing general store across the street. They had fresh dairy milk & cheese and creamery ice cream.... yum yum.

Williamsburg

My parents came to visit last week. I think we all were exhausted by the end of their trip! We went all over throughout 4 states and DC. I think they got a good idea of what it is like to live out here. I wish the trees were a little greener but all the cherry and magnolia trees were in full bloom! One of the things I have been really wanting to do is go to Williamsburg, Virginia. To see the historic triangle of Yorktown & Jamestown also. Well a 3 1/2 hour trip turned into 5 hrs to get there. And it wasnt exactly what I thought it would be. But we walked around for a few hours and then went home. It was set up with everyone in costume and reenactments in the streets. The town was kept in such amazing shape u wouldn't have know it was so old.

The best part about the town was this little garden.... I loved the glass things.. sorry can't remember the correct name for them.
