Cast is off!!!

Hey there.... my cast is finally gone and Im left with a heavy duty walking boot. My leg looks so odd now. Ive lost a lot of muscle mass but my ankle is fat. Im glad winter is coming, no more shorts for me. Im still on crutches and trying to withstand the pain of putting weight on my foot. This isn't going to be as easy as I thought it was going to be. I have 3 weeks till my next appt, and need to be walking fine by then. It going to be ruff though. I'm having troubles with keeping the swelling down right now and the pins and needles in the bottom of my foot kill also..... I know poor me poor me. But Im dying to get out of this house and back to normal life. Here's a great image of my pain.... ENJOY

Gimpy

One of the other reasons I built this blog is, that I have a lot a time on my hands lately. I hurt my ankle at Fedex almost 2 years ago when I dropped a 150 lb box on it. I went through many docs in WA and was treated for tendon damage and nerve damage. When I moved to MD, I had to find a new doc, here I finally found one who cared and took the time to correctly diagnose my pain. Ends up....I fractured my tibia. By now it became a "nonunion" fracture and I needed surgery. I went under 3 weeks ago and they put one screw in my leg. Ive been in a cast now and only have a week left till it comes off and my stitches come out!!!! My sympathy for anyone who has lost use of a leg. I'm going nuts hopping around this place and boy does my leg itch like crazy!

Underestimated a Rain Cloud

One of our favorite things out here is the thunder & lightning storms. If you can believe it... it rains harder out here than WA! When a storm blows in, it means business. The skies blacken and we can hear the thunder booming miles away. But we also found out the hard way not to underestimated the white clouds either. On that day we decided to walk the puppies and was caught in a down pour. NO warnings.... just one minute it was dry and the next we were trying to hide under the trees. Until we gave up and walked home since we were soaked anyways. The funny thing about rain here is..... it stays a warm 85 degrees. You'd think we were in Hawaii. A couple of days ago we had the remnates of a hurricane and it blew and rained hard for a day, and that was enough to make the living room ceiling leak. It came in from the attic window, ran down the bedroom wall and pooled in the layers of paint to form a boob hanging down from our ceiling. Old houses have their perks ;)

Watching the Squirrels

Our puppy Maya took over the green chair. She sits looking out the window for squirrels all day long. And when she isn't the cats are. I couldn't resist taking their pics with the light shinning through. We have all sort of wildlife where we are. The large family of bats living behind our shutters are my least favorite. But we have tons of birds. Maya chases them like crazy and caught a baby the other day but I think I saved it. We also have the dumbest rabbits. Everyday those bunnies keep coming back for more and gets chased out of the yard everyday. Cody on the other hand thought it was funny to sick Maya on the rabbit and lets just say she didn't stop at the end of our yard..... Two blocks later Cody caught her. And now that Cody just finished the fence, the dogs love to run around outside.

Good Idea

Everyone can thank my best bud Ali for starting her blog and forcing me to build one also!!! For all those who think they are too old for myspace (Sarah).... you have forced me to find another way to bore you with our lives. Im going to try and update this as much as possible with our adventures of Maryland. And the kids of course.... since I know Moose is who everyone misses the most!
