Boredom

Well, boredom got the best of me today. I just needed to get out of the house so I headed out to this junkyard. It was closed but the house behind it had tractors and farm equipment scattered all over its property... right up my alley! First I called my neighbor to let her know where I was and if I didn't text her in 30 minutes to send the swat team. Not that Frederick even has one. But turns out that the man who I meet was really nice and had a great time touring me around showing me all his tractors that he rebuilds. Which means lots of rusted ones lying around for parts. Which I had to laugh at cuz Dad u know why!! U have a good one and then u have one for parts. Right? But he also invited me to Plow Days with the Antique Tractor Club. So Im so excited to do that with all these farmers rollin on their.... 80s? Ha Ha Im a dork.

Photoshop Actions

Well I purchased some photoshop actions.... I was hoping for a one click wonder... well after sitting here for 3 days straight, going cross eyed at the computer screen, I have some examples of different effects Ive been trying out. What do you think? Also I had my first post on my other website blog. Dont forget to look at that also. Used actions there too.

Partner in Crime

My partner in crime, Sarah decided I was a better subject than anything else she saw these days.... We seem to have a weekend routine of shooting somewhere new in the area. As you can see its been truly cold and Ive been pretty bundled up braving the weather. It warmed up to 75 degrees yesterday after snowing 5 days earlier. Interesting huh? So here I am in action!

Tuesday.... Signature Style

Well most of these images are on my new website, but a few are not. Im also turning in a couple from the boys next door. The assignment was to shoot in our "signature style" Well I get my style would be "detail" related. Always getting closer to the subject where sometimes it becomes a completely different element of design, that you can't tell what it was to begin with. I love textures, repetition, and amazing tonal values. Which is why my images are usually black n white. I took a trip down to Luckettes in Virgina. Its a town but there is nothing there except antique stores. And most of them are outside piles of junk. Perfect for me. All these images are of what was lying around their property. I think it was a great photographic find, will probably go back again real soon!

MY NEW WEBSITE!

Hello everyone.... I just sent out a mass email letting everyone know about my new website. Im so excited to share it with everyone and most likely you might be featured in the website. More reason to check it out. I also have a new blog attached to it for my client shoots but this will continue to be my personal blog. So go see and tell me what you think. I also have a gallery with all my non-people stuff. My instructor last week told me that I should be doing something with my artwork, he suggested a cafe or something but I guess this is my first baby step.

So on another note.... it snowed last night. Im sure if you watched the news you heard all about it. But fortunately Frederick caught the edge of the storm. We only got 3-4 inches. Finally enough worth the effort to go for a walk down to my park.

Awwe my Moosie. I finally got a shot of him looking into the camera. He must have been in a really good mood. He loves the snow. I pack snowballs for him and he takes them out of my hand and shakes his head like he is trying to kill it. Pretty funny to watch!

Practice Practice Practice

So I havent had much practice with little guys... especially the toddler age. Where the last thing they want to do is hold still so you can focus. My neighbor, Makayla and I have been trying to get together for awhile to shoot her cute kids. Landon, almost 2 and Colin 6. Between the weather and our schedules we just havent had time till yesterday. We didn't do too much, so I will be trying again soon! But here are some of my attempts of capturing a really quick cutie pie.

We had a little peacock thing going on with all the static electricity we have over here...
